About Course

For students from any Board (CBSE/ IB/ IGCSE/ ICSE, etc.)

Empower Your Child to Conquer the Mysteries of Physics!

This isn’t your ordinary physics class! In this engaging online module, your child will actively explore the fascinating world of forces, motion, density, and flotation. Designed for grades 6-8, this course tackles common misconceptions and helps students build a rock-solid foundation in physics.

Here’s what makes this course unique:

  • Interactive Learning:  Your child won’t just passively listen. They’ll participate in pre-work activities, live sessions with expert mentors, and engaging assignments designed to deepen their understanding.

  • Mastering the Fundamentals: This module will give you a deeper understanding of forces and motion, which are the fundamental basis of learning physics. Through real-life examples and thought-provoking questions, students will explore Newton’s laws from multiple perspectives.

  • Unlocking the Secrets of Density:  Density is a fundamental property of matter, that we don’t really connect well to the rest of physics. Delve into the intriguing connection between density and flotation, exploring questions like whether melting icebergs really cause sea levels to rise.

  • Personalized Support:  Our dedicated mentors provide continuous feedback and are available to answer your child’s questions throughout the course.

Give your child the edge they need to excel in science! Enroll them in “Concepts in Physics: Mastering Mechanics” today!

The course comprises 5 sessions of 90 mins each on Zoom.

The Story behind conceptual learning courses at Gifted World

Inspired by recent discussions on social media highlighting the need for a more foundational approach to learning, we have identified critical topics that encourage students to explore and engage with scientific principles. Our blog post, Conceptual Learning: What, Why and How, offers a comprehensive overview of the importance of conceptual learning in science education.

With this starting point, our mentors sat down to curate a list of such areas that students could do well to have a deep, foundational understanding of, that they can build on, over time. We have identified such topics across Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Math.

This module is around the concepts of Forces, Motion, Density and Flotation in Physics. The content has been chosen based on a knowledge of common student misconceptions and errors- derived from research as well as the experience base of our mentors. For each topic, the student experience includes pre-work, live sessions with mentors, assignments/ assessments, and feedback. In addition, students can email their doubts and questions to the mentor at any point of time during the course.

This could lead them to probe interesting questions such as whether the sea level could rise with icebergs melting.
