GenAI Essentials for Teens: Think, Create, Build (Dec 2025)
About Course
A focused 6-session Winter course for motivated students in Grades 7–10
Small cohort. Live, online. 6 × 2 hours
Beyond the hype. Into context. Ready to create.
Are you curious about tools like ChatGPT, image and audio generators—and how people actually work with them to learn faster, reason better, and build useful things? In this hands-on course, you’ll go beyond playing with prompts and learn how to set up context so AI behaves like a reliable teammate for study, research, data sense-making, and creative work.
Designed by Dr. Navin Kabra (CTO & Co-Founder, ReliScore; advisor to GoI initiatives; patents across the US/EU/JP; PhD—UW Madison; B.Tech—IIT Bombay), this intensive yet welcoming program is project-based and up-to-date—we don’t just teach tools, we teach you how to keep learning as GenAI keeps changing.
💡 What You’ll Explore
Over six sessions, you’ll build real skills and a showcase-ready artifact:
From Prompts to Context Engineering
Move past “magic prompts.” Learn to set instructions, roles, examples, and documents so outputs are trustworthy and useful.AI for Learning & Research
Plan, read, summarize, question, cite; spot hallucinations and bias; turn confusion into clarity.Data Sense-Making
Ask questions of spreadsheets/docs and turn them into clear charts & concise “data stories.”Multimodal Creativity
Blend text, image, and audio; understand consent, deepfakes, and when not to use AI.Build with GenAI
See how people code with AI: pair-programming basics with a co-pilot to create a tiny utility (e.g., a study-notes formatter or CSV helper) from a starter template- no prior coding experience needed.Responsible Use & Safety
Privacy, attribution, “I don’t know” handling, and evaluating sources. The Meta-Skill: Learn to Learn with GenAI
New models and features launch constantly (think major releases like next-gen GPT, Gemini 2.5 Pro, NotebookLM updates, etc.). You’ll practice a repeatable way to test, compare, and adopt what’s actually useful.
🔍 Why This Program is Different
✅ Context > Prompts
Prompt engineering was all the rage 1–2 years ago; today context engineering is crucial. We’ll teach you to set up tasks so AI acts like a capable collaborator, not a toy.
✅ Intensive, Not Intimidating
Six live sessions. Focused sprints. Lots of doing—no jargon overload.
✅ Small Group, Big Feedback
Cohorts are kept small so you can ask questions, iterate, and get personal guidance.
✅ Project-Based Outcomes
You’ll leave with a polished capstone and a personal AI playbook you can keep using across subjects.
🎯 Who Is This Course For?
Students in Grades 7–12 who want practical superpowers for schoolwork, projects, and creative pursuits. No coding required. Optional stretch tasks for advanced learners.
You don’t need prior AI or coding experience-just curiosity, a love of problem-solving, and a desire to explore one of the most powerful technologies of our time.
