About Course

Embark on an extraordinary intellectual journey into the universe with Introductory Astrophysics, a premier offering within our Gifted Summer Program. This exclusive online course is meticulously designed for advanced students in grades 7-10 who possess a strong foundation in basic mechanics and gravity, and a profound curiosity for the cosmos.

This Learning Quest is part of the Gifted Summer Program Online – July 2025, offered by GenWise on Gifted World.

Over six intensive sessions across two weeks, each two hours in duration, you will transcend conventional textbook learning to explore the profound questions that define our understanding of the universe:

• What is our address in the universe?
• How does gravity hold the universe together?
• How do we observe stars and galaxies?
• How are stars born? How do they die?
• What makes stars shine? Will they shine forever?
• Are we made of stardust?
• Are there planets around other stars other than the sun?
• How do we know that the universe is expanding? What is the final fate of the universe?

This course offers a rare opportunity to delve into the intricate lives of stars and galaxies, and gain a foundational introduction to cosmology, far beyond what is typically covered at this academic stage.

Eligibility: This course is open exclusively to students who are medallists or have a Commendable performance in the ASSET Talent Search. Other interested students who meet the prerequisites are invited to write to janani@genwise.in to assess their eligibility.
