My Misconception Mentor – Math Series (June 2025)
About Course
Surface-level fixes don’t work. It’s time to go deeper.
Most students can do the math—but still don’t really understand it.
Why? Because many teaching strategies address symptoms rather than causes. “My Misconception Mentor” flips this pattern. Built on insights from ASSET assessments taken by lakhs of students, this course helps teachers decode the why behind students’ most common math errors—and equips them with powerful ways to teach for real understanding.
For instance, from ASSET data, we can see that in Grade 8 students from top Indian schools, over 90% could solve a standard division algorithm. But when the question was presented in a slightly unfamiliar format, only 39% showed clear understanding. The rest stumbled—not because they lacked skill, but because their understanding was brittle.
This isn’t fixed by simply offering these grade 8 students more practice. It is important to dive into the previous grades, find and fix the reason for this lack of conceptual understanding.
Each course is structured in two parts:
-
Misconception Decoder: Explore national data to uncover the most common conceptual pitfalls.
-
Deep Dive: Content & Connections: Strengthen your subject understanding and explore proven strategies to build conceptual clarity in your students.
