About Course

An inquiry-based mathematics programme for curious 10–12 year-olds. Here children discover mathematics not as a page of formulas to memorise, but as a way of seeing the patterns hidden all around them. They are given something to notice, and the mentor’s questions — above all “what stays the same here, and what changes?” — help them build the rule themselves.

Each module runs as a weekly 90-minute live session on Zoom, in a small cohort of equally curious children. The work is visual, hands-on, and full of argument.

Across the year, students explore ideas like patterns and how to prove the rule behind them, number and its surprises, shape and symmetry and why some shapes tile a floor while others leave gaps, counting and combinations, thinking like a computer, and how to build a mathematical argument and hunt for the case where it breaks.

Mentor: Bharat Shresth — a mathematician with an M.Sc. in Mathematics from IIT Madras. He teaches students across the world and, when not doing math, is usually travelling, hiking in the mountains, reading, or experimenting in the kitchen.
