Gifted Lab — Senior Math (Gr 7–8)
About Course
Gifted Lab Senior Mathematics uses mathematical content to build thinking that transfers everywhere: tackling unfamiliar problems, spotting and testing patterns, building careful arguments, and modelling messy situations. Topics — number theory, graphs, geometry, combinatorics — are laboratories for these habits.
Each 5-week module gives students a content world to explore through non-routine problems, discussion, and investigation, with method valued over answer. Live sessions run weekly on Zoom in small cohorts.
Current module (July 2026): Mathematics using Technology. A fun exploration of mathematics using technology — through interactive activities with spreadsheets, GeoGebra, and Turtle LOGO, students discover patterns, learn to generalise, and experiment with mathematical ideas, building curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving.
Mentor: Kanchana Suryakumar — with degrees from BITS Pilani and TISS Mumbai, she blends a decade in the software industry with over ten years of mathematics teaching, and is passionate about making classroom learning meaningful and relevant.
